‘Renewable energy trade barriers conflict with EU law’ 

Barriers to cross-border trade of renewable energy (RE) are in breach of EU law, according to internal market specialists. New emissions trading cap lowered by 13%

The overall cap for companies participating in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme has been established at 2.08 billion tonnes of CO2. This cap will be applied to the period 2008-2012. The Commission calculated that the phase II cap is 10% lower than the cap in 2005-2007. Corrected for some added installations in phase II, the cap even decreases by 13%. Read moreimage
